According to Decision V/26 concerning access and benefit-sharing adopted by the fifth Conference of the Parties of the CBD that was also attended by the ABS Working Group in the year 2000 in Nairobi the contracting parties are obligated to provide a national focal point or a national authority to provide information and regulations on access and benefit-sharing within the scope of their responsibility.
